Police working to identify possible witness, after reported sexual battery on Jacksonville's Eastside

Jacksonville, FL — The Jacksonville Sheriff's Office is asking for any information, after a reported sexual battery on the Eastside.

According to police, a woman was outside the library at 1390 Harrison Street, not far from Matthew W. Gilbert Middle School, on Monday morning, when an unknown black man approached her and attempted to rob her at gunpoint.

Following the attempted robbery, police say the suspect then forced the victim into her vehicle and sexually battered her.

The suspect was last seen leaving the area on foot. He's described as a black male, 30-35 years old and approximately 5’11” tall. He's also said to have a dark complexion and a goatee.

The above photo released by JSO is a possible witness, who police are trying to speak with.
