Rape suspect attacks St. Johns Co. mother

A St. Johns County mother dropped her kids off at the bus stop, and then was attacked when she returned to her apartment.

Investigators say 52-year-old Randy Gadson was waiting on the victims couch, then followed her into her bedroom, punched her in the mouth and raped her at knifepoint.

St. Augustine Police arrested Gadson at his St. Augustine home. His bond was set at $502,500 following a first appearance hearing this morning. The victim received treatment at Flagler Hospital and has since been released.
