Record attendance at Players championship closes main parking lot

The main parking lot at the Players Championship reached full capacity on Friday.

Traffic was rerouted to the Crosswater Community Church at Davis Park on Nocatee Parkway. Chris Rimer with the Player's Championship says reaching full-capacity parking has never happened in the history of the tournament.

"Obviously a lot of excitement around the tournament, a lot of excitement around Tiger's group this morning."

Rimer says to help cut down the crowds they are encouraging fans to carpool which will allow you to park for free. You can download a voucher online.

Parking pass sales for Saturday are now discontinued. Rimer says, "If you don't have a parking pass now, you're going to need to hop in the car with somebody."
