Second person charged in 2016 murder of 22-month-old Aiden McClendon

Jacksonville, Fl. — Another person has been arrested and charged with the death of 22-month-old Aiden McClendon, according to the State Attorney’s Office.

18-year-old Kquame Richardson is charged with murder in the second degree, two counts of attempted murder in the first degree, discharging a firearm from a vehicle and shooting or throwing deadly missiles. Richardson is also charged with Racketeering which is often associated with organized crime or gang activity, that was added on Friday, November 10th.

According to the Jacksonville Sheriff’s Office Inmate search, Richardson was arrested and charged in March of this year. His arrest was never announced by police.

The toddler was in a car with two other family members on January 29th, 2016 when he was shot and killed in what police believe was a gang-related drive-by. Aiden was not the intended target, Police said Aiden's cousin Reginald Williams, a member of the Out East gang, was in the front yard at the time of the shooting and was likely the shooters' intended target.

WOKV told you in March of 2016 when Jacksonville Police announced the arrest of Henry Lee Hayes, he was charged with Aiden's murder. Police believe is a member of the Problem Child Entertainment Gang. Hayes received a racketeering charge the same day as Richardson.
