Six sought for burglaries in St. Johns, Duval and Flagler

At least six people are suspected in multiple wireless store burglaries in your neighborhood.

The St. Johns County Sheriff’s Office responded to the AT&T Wireless on SR 312 early Monday morning when the business’s alarm was triggered. Video surveillance shows the group attempting to break the front glass door of the business with an unidentified object. When that didn’t work, they began kicking the door until it shattered.

The suspects appear to have removed a “large amount” of property according to the Sheriff’s Office, including cell phones and accessories, although the exact value is pending a full inventory and the investigation. They also caused an estimated $1,200 in damage.

Deputies believe this same group is responsible for attempting two similar burglaries before this one at the Verizon Wireless on Old Moultrie Road. They attempted to break the front glass door both one week ago and shortly before the AT&T burglary, but were unsuccessful.

We’re told this same group may also be tied to similar crimes in Duval and Flagler counties as well. The St. Johns County Sheriff’s Office tells WOKV they do not believe the suspects live in St. Johns.

If you have any information on these suspects you’re asked to call St. Johns County Sheriff’s Office Detective Chris Hernandez at 904-209-3984. You can also submit an anonymous tip and be eligible for a possible reward by calling Crime Stoppers at 1-888-277-TIPS.
