A St. Johns County man is accused of befriending a 14-year-old on social media, luring her to his house with a free tattoo and sexually assaulting her.
45-year-old Raymond Lopez has been booked in to the St. Johns County Jail for a felony charge of lewd and lascivious battery and a misdemeanor charge of tattooing a minor without parental consent. He will have his first appearance in court Wednesday morning.
The 14-year-old victim told detectives she received a “friend request” from Lopez on social media and accepted. He then offered her a free tattoo, so she went to his home on Dondanville Road. After giving her the tattoo, he allegedly became aggressive and sexually assaulted her.
Lopez was brought in for questioning today, identified by the victim in a photo line-up, and arrested.
The St. Johns County Sheriff’s Office says Lopez is a “career criminal” who was released from prison earlier this year following convictions for battery and possession of a controlled substance.
