A shocking story out of the classroom in Fernandina Beach where a teacher is under arrest for taking discipline too far.
Gary Scott was immediately fired and is now facing charges after he allegedly hit a student who was six months pregnant. Other students say Scott used foul language and had an attitude before he did it.
"It's something that's not going to be tolerated," says Nassau County superintendent Dr. John Ruis.
Nassau county school superintendent Dr. John Ruis says substitute teachers must be recommended by a principal in order to teach. They also have to get a background check done and go through some training.
Parents say they're concerned because no one should have to fear the face at the front of the classroom.
