The Jacksonville Sheriff's Office SWAT team has now cleared a Riverside home on Gilmore Street after learning the suspect had fled.
Police were attempting to serve a warrant at the home on Gilmore Street around midnight. 27-year-old Deshawn Lamar Brown is wanted for Aggravated Domestic Battery. He has not yet been caught by police.
Jacksonville police say they had reason to believe there was a weapon in the house, which is why SWAT responded.
23-year-old Shawn Curtis Robinson was also in the home. He has been arrested on an out of county warrant.
If you have any information about Brown you can contact the Jacksonville Sheriff’s Office at 904-630-0500 or JSOCrimeTips@jaxsheriff.org. You can also submit an anonymous tip and be eligible for potential reward by calling Crime Stoppers at 1-866-845-TIPS.
The home is right around the corner from Central Riverside Elementary School. The school will be open Friday.
Here is a statement from Duval County Public Schools:
The district was advised by JSO that there was a potentially violent situation in a resident home near Central Riverside Elementary.
In order to ensure the safety of students , District staff were working on contingency plans to communicate with parents regarding the possible relocation of students if the situation were not resolved prior to the opening of school.
DCSP and JSO have indicated that the scene is clear and there are no suspects in the neighborhood. We plan to open school as usual and will have district and cluster staff on site to assist if needed.
