Governor Rick Scott celebrating the passage of one education bill, while still pressuring the legislature on another.

Scott signed off on a second pathway to earning a high school diploma for students who want industry certification. He also approved a measure to rank schools as "preeminent universities," which would also create an online university.

"This bill allows us to move forward, educationally. And in the result of that, will be more jobs for our state. People will be able to live and work here the way that they want to," said UF President Bernie Machen.

The Governor still stressing lawmakers to approve the $2,500 teacher pay raises saying, they deserve it.
