Tires and mattresses pulled from the St. Johns River

Nearly 25,000 pounds of trash is now out of the St. Johns River.

A weekend cleanup hosted by Keep Jacksonville Beautiful logged more volunteer hours and bags of trash collected than last year.  803 volunteers worked this weekend to collect 24,860 pounds of marine and inland trash in 1,243 bags.

Some of the weirdest items pulled include mattresses, bubble wrap, a bicycle frame, car undercarriage, and 135 tires.
