Two dead in SUV crash in St. Johns County, one related to Ryan Ford

At least two people have died in a single vehicle crash in St. Johns County.
It happened around 1:30am on County Road 208 and County Road 13A, which is west of I-95.

WOKV has learned five people were in a red SUV that ran off the road and hit some trees.

Two were pronounced dead.  At least two people were taken to hospitals.

Florida Highway Patrol is investigating the cause of the crash.
Our partner Action News spoke to the uncle of a 20 year-old woman killed in the crash.  He says she is cousins with Ryan Ford, a 19 year-old Pedro Menendez student who passed away after he was beaten at a Bonfire party in Mandarin.
They also spoke with a woman who lives near the scene of the crash on County Road 208.  She says she felt helpless.
"I couldn't do anything 'cause you're not supposed to touch 'em.  And there was one boy out here, he knew 'em, and he was trying to help the girl.  And he rolled her over, and we told him not to.  He was there trying to keep calm and, you know, he was trying to help her."

The Florida Highway Patrol has not yet released the names of the people involved in the crash.
