Two school bus accidents snarl traffic in Arlington, Green Cove Springs

A couple of accidents involving school buses created traffic issues in Jacksonville and Green Cove Springs early Wednesday morning.

A bus headed to Kirby and Landon Middle Schools was rear-ended at Merrill Road and Townsend according to a spokeswoman for Duval County Public Schools. None of the eight children on the bus at the time were injured in the accident. The driver of the SUV that crashed into the bus was cited for violating the right of way.

Another accident involving a bus happened west of the fairgrounds in Green Cove Springs on State Road 16 West. Mary Justino with the Clay County Sheriff's Office says there were four vehicles involved, including a school bus.  None of the 13 kids on board at the time were injured.
