Veteran's group at the center of gambling investigation

A center that houses 27 veterans finds itself wrapped in a federal investigation.

The Allied Veterans Center in Arlington received about $600,000 this past year from Allied Veterans of the World- the group now at the center of a gambling investigation. Center head Len Loving tells us he was shocked to find out about the investigation, but now he’s mainly concerned about what will happen with the people living in the center.

“If we don’t get the funding that we need to do what has to be done here, then yeah, we’ll have to shut the door,” he says.

While he wouldn’t disclose exactly how much money the center has at this point, he says they can continue to operate through May or June. After that he says they will need to find a new supporter in order to keep the doors open.
