VIDEO: TPC Sawgrass wrapping up renovations to Performance Center

It's an exciting time for golf fans.

TPC Sawgrass is making a number of big changes to the PGA TOUR's Performance Center and even one major staffing change.

Todd Anderson has been named the director of the upgraded performance center. Anderson was previously the PGA Teacher of the Year in 2010.

Anderson speaking about the position says, "I am very excited about this opportunity with the PGA TOUR and look forward to using our state-of-the-art Performance Center to create programs that will help players of all levels improve."

As for the upgrades, the PGA TOUR's Performance Center is now nearly double in size, with the square footage going from 4,050 square feet to 7,680 square feet.

The structure itself has a second story added on, two more hitting bays, and a new training/fitness room.

The Performance Center will also have a treatment room, to help students recover more quickly from injuries.

The expanded facility is set to reopen after THE PLAYERS 2017 in May.
