Volunteers offering Hurricane Irma cleanup in Jacksonville

Jacksonville, Fl. — This weekend thousands of volunteers are working together to offer relief to those who need it after the devastation left behind by Hurricane Irma in the greater Jacksonville area.

Dave Bennion who is one of the volunteers says if you need help with debris removal, muck-out work, tree-cutting or muck-out work, you are asked to call the Disaster Clean Up hotline at 1.800.451.1954 to set up a work order.

"It won't cost them a dime," Bennion says.

These volunteers will prioritize with who has the greatest need. Bennion says they will first be taking care of first responders who need the assistance.

The volunteers are looking to fill 600 to 900 job orders this weekend. However, if there is a need the volunteers will also be out working again next weekend.

"We're just here to help, and we just need to know where people are and what help they need."

The number to call to set up a work order is the Disaster Clean Up hotline at 1.800.451.1954
