Dozens came out to Monday night's meetings to address safety concerns following night club violence in Murray hill and an unsolved quadruple shooting.
"I heard the gunshots and heard the car speed away. When you hear that gunshot you're waiting for the next ones to come by."
Sheriff Rutherford says a lack of resources is the reason why the Westside has seen an increase in violence.
"I think we've taken our eye off the ball in fighting crime in this community. We did that by cutting 147 police positions and all 92 community service officers."
He's urging residents to reach out to their local council members ask for more money to hire more police officers.
