Westside I-10 crash leads to dramatic rescue, one minor injury

Jacksonville, FL — One person had to be extricated from a truck that crashed on I-10 between Chaffee and Hammond Blvd. on Jacksonville’s westside.

Police and firefighters responded to the crash around 7:30am.  According to JFRD, approximately 50 gallons of diesel spilled.

Rescue crews extricated one person from the truck, and the person was transported to the hospital.

Florida Highway Patrol says that for unknown reasons, a tractor trailer transporting produce ran off the roadway, overturned, and collided with the tree line.

The driver, Sadel Alvarez of Miami, had minor injuries.
