White House: Republicans to blame for pipeline failure

Gas prices are skyrocketing , but the White House says you can blame Republicans for the fall of the Keystone Oil Pipeline.

You're paying $3.63 per gallon and rising in Jacksonville.

"The president is very aware of the impact that the global price of oil has on families," says Press Secretary Jay Carney.

He says the price fluctuation happens every spring, but even more so now with the unrest in Syria and Iran.

The White House also firing back at Republicans saying they're to blame for the Keystone Pipeline failure.

“The president didn't turn down the Keystone pipeline,” Carney said, adding Republicans should have provided an adequate time line for impact studies and approval.

The White House says they've opened up domestic oil production to its highest point in 8 years.
