After Mayor Alvin Brown's budget speech this morning, Jacksonville City Councilman Robin Lumb had a question. Below is the exchange:
Robin Lumb: "We are half way through our terms in office and, God willing, we'll get to the end of this intact. I appreciate your commitment to fiscal responsibility. I made a similar promise to voters when I ran. And just for the sake of clarity and guiding city council in its deliberations, am I correct in assuming that if a budget winds up on your desk that features an increase in the millage rate, that you would veto that budget"?
Mayor Brown: "Well, absolutely".

And that was it. No follow-up questions or comments. The Mayor shook hands with city council members and left council chambers.
