More human remains were discovered Sunday after a dog found body parts in Thurston County.
Authorities said a dog found a severed human leg and foot and brought them to a home near Nisqually Wednesday. The dog's owners did not know what to do at first and waited a few days to call local police.
"Scared me to death," said Cheryll Flowers, who's dog Liberty proudly put the leg in her yard.
Thurston County Sheriff's Deputies and about 30 volunteers spent Sunday searching the area where the parts were found for more evidence. During the search, investigators found ribs, a pelvis and parts of a skull.
"It's a suspicious death obviously, just based on the circumstances," said TCSO Sgt. Ray Brady.
Brady said sheriff's deputies do not yet know the age or gender of the person who died. He also said no high-profile missing cases in the area come to mind.
Brady said until his team gets more information from the coroner's office, they are treating this like a homicide investigation.
Flowers just hopes Liberty did not sniff out serious trouble in her remote neighborhood.
"Could be a dumping ground," she said. "There's a lot of places that have standing water, who knows?"
