More than 350 sailors on the U.S.S. Gettysburg were welcomed home by more than just friends and family, they also got a firm handshake from Vice President Joe Biden.
Biden thanking the sailors for their service overseas in the middle east and also thanking those who were there to greet them, thanked them for sticking by their side.
From there he was taken to Fletcher High, where he's talking to students about college affordability.
Biden says the opportunities he had are no longer available and that the current adminstration is working to change that.
"A lot of people don't want to go to college . . . the truth of the matter is, it's getting harder and harder to make a middle class wage, especially with people trying to bring down unions, which I think is a bad idea, but I won't get into that. There are other avenues, but they are getting harder and harder than the best avenue, and I'm not going to kid you, the best avenue is a 4 year degree", said Biden.
Biden says what other countries are doing is what made us great . The greatest advantage we have, in the late 1800's and the beginning of the 20th century, we said everyone must go to school.
