Jacksonville police are continuing to look for more information and other suspects in a home invasion last Wednesday night that left two of the men who tried to break into the home dead after the homeowner got a gun and fired at the suspects.
JSO confirms a body that was found next to a dumpster in an Arlington parking is related to a home invasion earlier in the day. Police have identified the suspect as 20-year-old Lawrence Franklin.
JSO says they found Franklin dead from multiple gunshot wounds in the Monument Road Animal Hospital lot. It's located not far from a home on Oak Water Drive, which is just off Monument Rd., where police say a homeowner shot and killed an intruder earlier Thursday morning.
WOKV has learned the suspect who was found unresponsive at the home and later died was 24-year-old Aaron Harris.
WOKV returned to the home Friday morning to talk to the homeowner who shot the suspects but there did not appear to be anyone home and no one answered our knocks at the door. There was, however, still blood visible on the front door frame and welcome mat.
Police continue to search for the third suspect. If you have any information about the crime or suspects involved you’re asked to call JSO at 904-630-0500. You can also submit an anonymous tip and be eligible for a reward by calling Crime Stoppers at 1-866-845-TIPS.
