The Jacksonville Sheriff's Office says a police officer was shot in the forearm while trying to take down a burglar at the Big Cash Pawn shop on Beach and Forest.
JSO Chief of Investigations Annie Smith say the suspect's gun went off during the struggle. Smith says the officer was not seriously injured and the suspect, along with his family members are all now in police custody.
"The suspect was taken into custody as was his wife and their adult daughter."
Employees at the pawn shop contacted police after the trio entered the store. Police say they are suspected in a string of burglaries in the area.
This all happened around 2:30pm Wednesday afternoon.
