3-year-old left on bus

NASSAU COUNTY, Fla. —

A bus driver is suspended five days after a 3 year-old boy is left alone on a school bus.

"It's not enough.   Not for putting a child in jeopardy," says Lena Roman, the boy's mother.

Lena Roman's son Manny was alone on a school bus in Nassau County nearly two weeks ago.  He goes to a daycare program at Callahan Elementary School, but didn't show up one day a couple of weeks ago.He was found 90 minutes later, still on the bus and in his seat belt.

"The bus gets dropped off at the fairground in Callahan, so my biggest fear was that he would have got out and walked on U.S. 1, you know, or anything," Roman says.

The district's transportation director tells our news partner Channel 4 it's routine to make sure no kids are left on the bus--so they were surprised this happened.
