4 to 5 tons of cocaine coming through Mayport Tues.

By Gene Wexler

Jacksonville, FL. —

Four to five tons of cocaine are coming through Mayport on Tuesday, as well as some marijuana.

"I mean this is a lot of money that we're taking out of their hands," said Lt. Commander Corey Barker, spokesman for Naval Forces Southern Command.

The wholesale value of the cocaine is $93 million dollars.

"The street value is three to four times that," Barker said, which puts the street value over $250 million.

Barker says since the operation has started in January, they're close to preventing a billion dollars of drugs from reaching the streets of the U.S.

The drugs are stopped down close to Colombia and Panama.
