JACKSONVILLE, Fla. —
The Florida Highway Patrol has made an arrest in the hit-and-run death of a 13-year-old boy on November 26.
Anthony Margadonna,22, of Jacksonville is charged with leaving the scene of a crash involving death, a first degree felony.
Police in Clay county say two days after the accident they received a call from someone who saw a vehicle matching the description of the one police were searching for. Police pulled over Margadonna's 2007 Jeep Grand Cherokee, and noticed fresh damage to the front right side of the car and the hood. The arrest report says Margadonna was acting nervously, and when asked about the damage to his car, he told the deputy that he had hit a mailbox or recycling bin in Orlando a month ago. Police determined the damage was a good enough match to impound the car.
Margadonna was arrested and booked into the Clay county jail on Thursday.
