Bad odor leads JSO to dead body

A foul odor brings Jacksonville Police to Janette Street on the Northside, where they find a decomposing body in a home.

We’re told JSO received an anonymous tip about the smell. Investigators haven’t been able to determine the gender of the remains, but they believe they’ve been there at least several days and foul play is involved. The manner of death has not been released.

JSO says investigators will spend several hours on the scene- just blocks from Stanton College Prep- this evening. The body will be transported to the Medical Examiner for further investigation.
