We were told to expect quick action to ban "casinos on the street corner".
The Florida House Select Committee on Gaming passed a bill that would further clarify the definition of slot machines used at Internet cafes and adult arcades.
The vote was 15-1 on the amended bill. Legislative leaders have said it's on a fast track for a quick floor vote, possibly next week.
The lone "no" vote was Rep. Jim Waldman, D-Coconut Creek, who said he feared the Legislature was moving too quickly.
