JaxBiz, the non-partisan arm of the Chamber of Commerce, says it will not endorse a candidate for mayor. The organization says Republican Mike Hogan and Democrat Alvin Brown are both focused on business and both appeal to Chamber membership, so they've chosen not to endorse one or the other.
"As we work to overcome one of the most challenging economic periods of our history, the next mayor will need to address critical issues and help create jobs," said Kelly Madden, 2011 JAXBIZ Chair. "Both mayoral candidates indicated support for growing jobs and supporting small businesses."
Of course, both candidates are taking this as a positive, saying the business community supports their plan for creating more jobs. JaxBiz originally endorsed Audrey Moran for mayor during the first election.
