PONTE VEDRA, Fla. —

Police arrest a homeless woman for the murder of a man whose body was found behind the Target in Ponte Vedra.

We now know the victim is 35-year-old Luther Anderson Hardmon, and the St. Johns County Sheriff’s Office believes his girlfriend is the killer.

SJSO Cpl. Catherine Payne tells WOKV 28-year-old Brenda Muniz has been arrested for murder.  She is now in St. Johns County Jail on $750,000 bond.

The body was discovered Sunday in the woods behind the Target at JTB and A1A.

"This has been an active transient camp for quite some time," says Cpl. Catherine Payne with the St. Johns County Sheriff's Office.

Shoppers tell our news partner, Channel Four, that they're shocked.

"It is startling to think that that could happen in a place that I felt that was somewhat secure," says Dylan Richmond, who was on his way to church when he encountered the crime scene tape.

Police have not established a motive for the murder and tell us they are actively seeking information from people who may have witnessed the killing.
