Jacksonville’s procurement committee has chosen Global Spectrum as the favored company to manage its entertainment facilities.
At a special meeting Wednesday, the committee said the bids submitted by both Global Spectrum and current manager SMG are “responsive, interested, qualified and available to provide the required services”, although they recommended Global Spectrum be the company moved forward to the Mayor.
Mayor Alvin Brown will ultimately make the decision on who the city chooses.
One of the facilities under this contract is EverBank Field. The Jaguars have said they favor SMG as the company to continue managing their venue. The city is speaking with the Jaguars to go over the companies and possible decisions.
We have reached out to the Mayor’s office to find out the timeline before a final decision is made.
