Closures and cancellations from Hermine

WOKV will update you as we find out about closures in connection to Tropical Storm Hermine.

SCHOOLS:

Duval County Schools will be closed Friday. Clay County Schools will be closed on Friday. Baker County Schools will be closed on Friday.  Nassau County Schools will be closed on Friday.  St. Johns County Schools will be closed Friday.

St. Johns County Public Schools has cancelled all sports/activities Friday and Saturday.

The Bolles School in Jacksonville is closed Friday.

University Christian School in Jacksonville is closing at 4:30 Thursday and will remain closed Friday.

Episcopal School of Jacksonville is closed Friday, including practices and games.

Joshua Christian Academy in Jacksonville will close at 3:30PM Thursday and remain closed Friday.

St. Johns Country Day School in Clay County is closed Friday.

The Florida School for the Deaf and Blind in St. Johns County will be closed Friday.

Duval, Clay, Nassau, and St. Johns counties have cancelled afterschool activities Thursday. This includes Extended Day and Team Up activities.

The YMCA of Florida’s First Coast has cancelled all its afterschool programs in Duval County for Thursday. The YMCA has also cancelled PrYmeTime in Clay County.

The University of North Florida is closing at 3pm Thursday.  Classes are cancelled Friday as well.

Jacksonville University has cancelled any classes and activities after 3:30PM Thursday and through Friday. Athletic events will follow “normal weather protocols”

All FSCJ campuses and centers are closing on Thursday at Noon.  Campuses and centers will remain closed on Friday, September 2, 2016 and will reopen on Tuesday, September 6.

Edward Waters College will close at 3PM Thursday and remain closed Friday

St. Johns River State College is closing at 5PM Thursday and will remain closed Friday.

ACT/SAT prep courses at the Bartram Trail Branch Library have been cancelled for Thursday night.

The Salvation Army's Child Development Center in Downtown Jacksonville will be closed Friday.

The Diocese of St. Augustine is closed Friday

RECREATION:

Castillo de San Marcos and Fort Matanzas will be closed Friday. Park officials had originally planned to be closed on Thursday, but have changed that with the updated forecasting. Both parks will be open Thursday.

The Jacksonville Suns game on Thursday night has been postponed. Their Friday night game is currently scheduled to go on as planned.

St. Johns County beaches are closed to vehicular traffic Thursday and Friday.

The Anastasia State Park Campground is closed. All SJC Parks and Recreation Fields are closed Thursday and Friday.

The Florida Theatre has postponed Thursday night’s Kenny G concert. It will be rescheduled for November 28, and all previously purchased tickets will be honored.

The concert Thursday night at the Gazebo of the Plaza de la Constitution has been cancelled.

Parts of the Sing Out Loud Showcase, including local music showcase at the Colonial Quarter, Aviles Street Jam at Plum Gallery, and Sing Out Loud Festival Backyard BBQ

TCS Sawgrass is closed Friday

GOVERNMENT, AGENCIES, AND BUSINESSES:

City of Jacksonville non-essential employees being sent home at 3PM Thursday. City will be closed Friday.

City of Jacksonville garbage collection has been cancelled for Friday. St. Johns County has cancelled garbage and recycling pickup Friday.

All Jacksonville District State Forests will be closed Thursday until further notice due to the storm, this includes Belmore and Jennings in Clay County, Cary in Duval/Nassau and Ralph Simmons and Four Creeks in Nassau County.

JSO ShAdCo Meetings and Walks Thursday have been cancelled.

Teen Court in Clay County has been cancelled for Thursday night.

Clay County Clerk's Office (all branches) will be closing at 1:30 p.m. Thursday and will remain closed Friday.

CareerSource Northeast Florida is closing noon Thursday and will remain closed Friday.

FEMA Floodplain Map open house at the Ponte Vedra Concert Hall Thursday night has been cancelled.

Catholic Charities is closing at 3PM Thursday

Council on Aging facilities will be closed Friday

Clay County Sheriff’s Office locations will be closed to the public Thursday and Friday. Sworn staff remain on duty.

The Duval County Courthouse has closed. The Clerk of Courts offices will be closed Friday. The Fourth Judicial Circuit State Attorney’s Office will be closed Friday.

The Jacksonville Humane Society is closing at 4PM Thursday until further notice.

St. Johns County Government offices will close all offices at 3 p.m. on Thursday and remain closed Friday.

Non-essential personnel at Naval Station Mayport, Naval Air Station Jacksonville, and Naval Submarine Base Kings Bay should not report Friday

Jacksonville Division Office of the United States Bankruptcy Court for the Middle District of Florida

The ports of Jacksonville and Fernandina close at 11 PM Friday. Movable bridges close to marine traffic at midnight.

The St. Johns River Ferry will not operate Friday
