Corey livid over courthouse funding cuts

By Andrew Greenstein

Jacksonville, FL —

State Attorney Angela Corey is livid over Mayor Brown's plan to cut $4 million in funding for the new Duval County Courthouse.

Those cuts would eliminate a walkway that would connect the new courthouse to the state attorney's office.

Corey says that walkover is essential, so that attorneys don't have to constantly cross a busy downtown street to get to and from the new courthouse.

Corey says no one consulted with her directly about the proposed cuts.

The courthouse's $350 million price tag has been a sore spot for taxpayers for years.
