Jacksonville, FL —

The official portrait of former Governor Charlie Crist was unveiled yesterday.

The oil painting was done by Pensacola artist Jeffrey Bass.  He painted it from a photograph taken inside the governor's mansion last December.

Unlike portraits of other recent governors, the one of Crist does not contain any iconic symbols of his four years in office.

Instead, Crist is seen facing straight forward, standing next to a Florida flag, his arms by his sides, his left hand holding the back of a chair.

Crist says he's pleased with the painting.
