Jacksonville, FL —

Florida Atlantic University and Palm Beach State College are now all-clear after getting locked down for about three hours this afternoon.

The two colleges were locked down after reports of an armed robbery at FAU.

Students were first alerted shortly after 1 PM that the man was seen in the Arts & Letters building on the Boca campus of FAU.  That same alert told students to be alert and seek secure shelter.  Shortly after a suspect description was sent out.  Police are looking for a black male wearing white pants and a white shirt, approximately 5’10” with a muscular build.

The Associated Press says this man is responsible for an armed robbery in the Arts and Letters Building where the victim was a student.  Our news partner The Palm Beach Post reporting the suspect held a gun to the victim’s head.  He fled with some of the student’s possessions.

Palm Beach State College Boca campus was locked down following the initial report of the robbery, although there are conflicting reports whether the suspect was also seen on that campus, or the lockdown is a precaution because of the campus’s proximity.

The Palm Beach Post reports the buildings were thoroughly searched and the suspect was not found.  The investigation in to this incident is still ongoing.
