Jacksonville, FL —

Any dog owner would feel awful to hear that a woman was arrested for leaving her dog in the backseat of her baking hot car.

The dog died, and now Amanda Foxwell is arrested for animal cruelty.

The Riverside woman was on the campus of Jacksonville University for at least 90 minutes Friday and left the dog in the car.

Police have arrested and charged a 27-year-old Riverside woman with intentionally causing cruel death to an animal.

Foxwell told police she got distracted and didn't make it out to her car until it was too late.
