Dogs attack St. Johns deputies busting meth lab

By Matt Augustine

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. —

Deputies in St. Johns County busting a meth lab come under attack by three pit bulls.

Sergeant Chuck Mulligan tells channel four meth labs are becoming a growing problem.

"Meth labs in St. Johns county are increasing, but everything that law enforcement does on a daily basis could be dangerous depending on the individual you're dealing with."

"I wouldn't want to let my little ones around, or anyone as far as that goes, to be around it," one neighbor tells channel four.

A pit bull ended up biting one of the deputies.  The deputy was treated at the scene.

That pit bull was shot and killed.   Another one was later euthanized.  The third one ran off.
