JACKSONVILLE, Fla. —

Windy Hill Elementary School's reigning Teacher of the Year was arrested Tuesday on three counts of sexual battery on a victim younger than 12.

According to a Jacksonville Sheriff's Office report, 26-year-old Christopher Bacca showered with a boy more than once while the victim stayed the night at Bacca's home.

Bacca is also charged with lewd and lascivious battery, molestation and conduct on a minor.

The boy told police that Bacca touched his private parts with his hand on more than one occasion, according to the JSO report.

He also told police that Bacca performed oral sex on him multiple times.

Christopher Bacca was first hired in August 2008 as a fourth grade teacher at Long Branch Elementary School and transferred to Windy Hill in January 2010, where he taught until Tuesday.

Duval County Public Schools issued a statement today.  Superintendent Ed Pratt-Dannals will be recommending suspension without pay pending termination at the August 7 school board meeting.

"The safety of our students is a top priority and the district took immediate action upon learning of these allegations," the school district said in a statement. "We will provide the outcome of the investigation to the Professional Practices Commission in Tallahassee for any potential action against his teaching certificate."
