Fiscal Cliff worries driving up gas prices

By Tiffany Griffith

Jacksonville, FL —

Experts say December is typically the month when gas prices are at their lowest. But as we look over the edge of the fiscal cliff, prices are starting to spike.

"In Jacksonville today, we have an average price at $3.29 a gallon that's actually up .07 cents a gallon within the past week," says Gregg Laskoski with GasBuddy.com. He says we're also above the national average by .05 cents.

Crude oil is also selling at $91 a barrel - the most we've seen in more than a month.

He says the good news is our nation's oil supply is healthy, but gas prices are expected to skyrocket by mid-to-late January, along with potentially bad news on the fiscal cliff.
