Jacksonville, FL —
Florida's GOP Chair Lenny Curry is not amused with a challenge from the Gingrich Campaign about the Sunshine State's winner-take-all rule.
"This has absolutely got me fired-up, because every candidate came to the state of Florida and they knew it was winner take all," says Curry.
He hears the grumbling is coming from Gingrich surrogate and former state Attorney General Bill McCollum. According to Curry, Florida rules were solidified last September, so why not raise a red flag in the last few months?
"Why after they recognize that they have lost Florida? It's a legitimate question."
Curry wonders if McCollum would raise the same concern if Gingrich had won Florida.
In just released e-mails, the Gingrich campaign claims Florida is not playing by the rules of the Republican National Committee, which claims no state can be winner-take-all until after April 1st. Curry says the decision to go winner-take-all was in the state's hands after breaking party rules and skipping ahead in the primary season.
