Jacksonville, FL —

If you’ve been planning a road trip, now may be the time to do it.

“I think we’re going to start to see now that continuous trend that we’ve been waiting for,” says Senior Petroleum Analyst Greg Laskoski.

He says gas prices have fallen 13 cents from this time last month, and are falling at least a penny a day on average.

“Barring some sort of major event, I think we’ll consistently see these prices falling a penny, maybe a penny or two a day,” Laskowski says.

He says part of the reason behind this drop is the refinery output along the East Coast.  He told me refineries are producing at nearly 90% capacity, which is a “tremendous” jump from earlier this week.  While the West Coast is making some gains as well, he says they are not keeping quite the same pace.

Laskoski expects the drop to continue at least for the next few weeks.
