Gas prices continue upward trend

Gas prices
Gas prices in Jacksonville continue to increase along with the rest of the nation.

By Andrew Greenstein

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. —

Gas prices in Jacksonville -- and the rest of the country -- continue going up.

Regular unleaded is now averaging $3.64 a gallon -- that's two and a half cents higher than last week's average and 28 cents higher than this time last month.

Still, that's six cents lower than the national average of $3.70 a gallon -- up nearly 22 cents in the last month.

Both averages are also higher than the averages from one year ago -- 14.5 cents locally and nearly 12 cents nationally.
