Gov. Scott: Once facts are in order, investigation will move forward

By Matt Augustine

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. —

Governor Rick Scott was in Jacksonville for a ceremonial bill signing at Load King on West Beaver Street Monday, but he took some time out to give an update on what he's looking for from his specially appointed prosecutor in the Trayvon Martin shooting.

"Earliest we can get a decision, once they get the fact.  But what we want is the facts...we want the facts on behalf of the Martin family, we want the facts on George Zimmerman, we want a logical process, and that's what's going to happen with the quality of people we have involved," Scott said.

The Governor standing behind his choice in Angela Corey to lead the investigation, but says he wants her to take action as soon as possible, so long as the facts are in order.

Despite calls from some legislators and a lot of the public to move forward with a task force that would investigate the incident in Sanford as well as Florida's Stand your Ground law, Scott says that will have to wait until the investigation is over.
