Jacksonville, FL —
Governor Rick Scott says Florida will knock Texas from their top spot.
Florida came in 3rd in the Chief Executive Magazine ranking of states by business environment.
"That is three places higher than the 6th place ranking we received last year," says Scott.
But, holding onto the #1 spot for the 7th year in a row is Texas. Governor Scott told Governor Rick Perry that Florida is coming for that #1 ranking with the help of smart budgeting.
"Cutting the cost and size of government, and passing the savings along to taxpayers and businesses in the form of tax cuts," Scott added.
He says ever since the end of the legislative session, he's been analyzing the state spending plan line by line, and says every tax dollar spent must help small businesses come to Florida and grow here.
