Jacksonville, FL —

A Jacksonville man is found guilty of robbing a southside Subway restaurant.

The State Attorney’s Office says 23-year-old Charles Jerome Culp was convicted today of two counts of armed robbery and one count of possession of a firearm by a convicted felon.  He is also charged now with two unrelated armed robbery cases and faces mandatory life in prison.

In February 2011, Culp and his co-defendant, Cleona Housandtroutman, robbed a Subway on Parental Home Road.  Culp stole money from the customers and business, and both were armed with handguns and concealing their faces.  The pair were caught by police shortly after the robbery.

Housandtroutman’s trial is pending.  She is charged with one count of armed robbery.

Culp will be sentenced the week of March 18.
