Jacksonville, FL —

A conviction for a 2011 hotel robbery.

A Jacksonville jury has convicted 46-year-old Johnny Walthour on a charge of Armed Robbery with a Firearm.

The State Attorney’s Office says Walthour had been out of prison for a 1996 Robbery conviction less than three years when he was caught on a probation violation and connected to the September 2011 Robbery.

Walthour is convicted for holding up a Hospitality Inn on 103rd Street.  His co-defendant, LaTroy Montgomery, has a trial pending.  The State Attorney says the two were wearing masks and carrying handguns when they forced hotel security to the floor and took money from the clerk.

The two fled the hotel, but Walthour was later caught.

His sentencing will take place the week of February 19.
