Jacksonville, FL —

Sheriff John Rutherford says he's fed up with financial dysfunction and is threatening to sue the city.

"Either they're incompetent, or the numbers are wrong," says Sheriff John Rutherford. "Probably a little bit of both."

After the Jacksonville City Council gave $10.5-million back to the sheriff's office, Rutherford wants to know why the latest accounting shows police and fire now need to cover the cost of at least $8-million in workers comp claims.

"This is why I hate doing business with the city through Central Services," says Rutherford.

He's willing to sue to get the documentation he says he's not getting from the city. Councilman John Crescembini says they're not asking for money back, just for police and fire to budget for the cost.
