Jags expecting big crowd for Sunday game

Jacksonville, FL —

It’s the biggest crowd they’re had for a game in the past several years.

“It’s gunna be a fun game, good crowd and hopefully exciting finish,” says Jaguars Senior Vice President of Sales and Marketing Macky Weaver.

He says they are taking off one of the tarps for Sunday’s game against the New York Jets in order to offer more tickets for sale.  Weaver says there may be some people in the crowd coming to see Tim Tebow, who isn’t expected to play for the Jets, the majority of the crowd should still be Jags fans.

“Fortunately our fans are doing their part and coming out to support the team,” he says.

Weaver says at the end of the day, of course everyone wants to see a win, but he is confident the fans are behind the team and the new experience the coach and owner are trying to bring to the field.

Fans at Sunday’s game will see a flyover during the opening ceremony.  Four F-15 Eagle aircraft from the Florida Air National Guard’s 125th Fighter Wing in Jacksonville will fly over EverBank at 1 PM.

WOKV’s coverage of the Jaguars v. Jets begins Sunday with the Tailgate Show at 10 AM.
