One woman is in critical condition after an apparent fight with her roommate turns violent.

Jacksonville Beach Police went to a home on the 1800 block of 1^st Street South last night to perform a welfare check.  A neighbor in the area was concerned about a person in the home who had not been seen for awhile.

Police uncovered a domestic dispute which had turned violent.  A woman in the home sustained life-threatening injuries and she was taken to Beaches Baptist ER, and then Shands.

A man inside the home attacked the responding officers, forcing them to deploy a TASER to subdue him.  He was taken in to custody for unrelated prior charges, although he was also brought to Beaches Baptist ER for what police say were unrelated medical conditions.

He is facing three counts of aggravated assault on a law enforcement officer.
