Jaxport CEO Paul Anderson has not accepted his job offer from the Tampa Port Authority to become their new CEO. But his contract negotiations have started, providing another sign that he's likely to take the position.
"I certainly do believe that that's gonna happen," said William "Ho" Brown, chairman of the Tampa Port Authority board of directors.
And while there has been "a little bit" of contract negotiations going back and forth, Brown said he doesn't expect Anderson to accept the job until all of the details to his contract have been worked out.
Brown said the Tampa board wants him as soon as they can get him. Right now they are without an executive director.
"Paul is a proven port director and is very, very good at what he does," Brown said.
According to Brown, the employees at the Tampa Port Authority are ready to know who their next leader is.
"We want to be able to get this situated enough to start movin' forward," he said.
As of Thursday, November 30, Anderson said he has not made a decision yet whether to accept the position.
